This year Dade City Animal Clinic joined up with Dade City Youth Council and Florida
Dog with Style to coordinate the first annual Dog's Day in Dade City.
The event was held on Saturday, March 21, 2010 from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock at the
Agnes Lamb Park located on Meridan Ave in Dade City.
The day started with Pastor Ed Kuffel from First Baptist Church doing opening prayer.
Our National Anthem was beautifully sung by Elizabeth Larue.
To everyone's amazement there were some creative floats that participated in the
wagon parade. We hope to see more next year. Florida Dog with Style's owner Valeria
Dragonswan had some great entries for the pet costume contest.
Vendors filled the area with great food, gifts, and hospitality. We have already
started accepting vendor applications for next year. $15 if we have the application
by 12/31/2010 and $20 after that.
Thank you to the Dade City Police Dept and their K-9 Units for taking the time to
come out. They shared some great information with our community. The K-9 officers
even demonstrated a couple of skills.
Deb Mims had a great agility course set up. This was great entertainment. Rachel
Graham with Showstoppers also spent some time on the stage performing a great dance
to "Nothing but a Hound Dog" Wonderful.
As you can tell we had a great turn out for the very first year. This event would
not have been as organized had it not been for Lucy Avila. Lucy was the main contact
person for this event. She scheduled our meetings and took care of all of the printing.
We are glad to have her helping again for next years Dog's Day.
Dade City Animal Clinic would like to say thank you to all that attended and we
look forward to seeing you and your four legged family members again next year.
Mark your calendar for Saturday March 19, 2011.
